PORT-AU-PRINCE: Haiti's election commission indicated on Tuesday it could not just revise presidential results on the basis of advice by international monitors but must follow legal procedures. A leaked draft report drawn up by a team of Organization of American States (OAS) monitors suggested the ruling party's presidential candidate, who placed second, should step aside instead of moving on to a run-off. But the election commission, giving its first public reaction after receiving the report, said it would only consider changing the ranks of the candidates on the basis of legal complaints filed. "The possibility of changing the position of the second and third candidates in the list of the primary results published on December 7, 2010 will be taken into consideration in the framework of the treatment of legal complaints," it said in a statement.
