Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard wants Kenny Dalglish to remain as manager of the club beyond the end of the season

LIVERPOOL - LIVERPOOL captain Steven Gerrard wants Kenny Dalglish to remain as manager of the Premier League club beyond the end of the season. Gerrard says Dalglish is the 'perfect manager' and 'is the perfect person to get everyone moving in the right direction again'. Liverpool has failed to win any of its three matches since Dalglish returned for a second spell in charge of the club on Jan 8, replacing the fired Roy Hodgson. The Reds are only four points above the league's relegation zone and Dalglish initially has been appointed until the end of the season. Gerrard tells club magazine LFC Weekly 'I want to do everything in my power to ensure that he stays here for a long time, beyond the initial six months.' -- AP
