Looking to engage more citizens via social media

TWO-WAY communication between the Government and citizens cannot happen without active participation from both sides. Speaking at the inaugural GovCamp to share ideas to increase engagement with the Government on Wednesday, Minister for Information, Communications and the Arts (MICA) Lui Tuck Yew said while social media can act as a platform, it ultimately falls on the people to determine their success. Organised by tech giant Microsoft, GovCamp was held at the National University of Singapore and attracted over 200 people, including Harvard University's Professor Zachary Tumin, social blogger Preetam Rai and members of the public.
