Are there laws to protect men from sexual harassment at the work place?

Traditionally, sexual harassment or sexual based offences are thought of as affecting women only – the adage being that a man cannot be raped or would be “lucky” to have such a situation “thrust” upon him! In reality, it is actually possible for a man to be sexually harassed just like a woman. In Singapore, there are no specific laws that prohibit stalking or sexual harassment, indicating that they may not be considered to be a significant issue here. However, statistics show that the incidents of sexual harassment in Singapore are higher than expected and it has been recommended that companies effect policies and systems to address such grievances. For sexual harassment in the workplace, you may file a report to the Ministry of Manpower and the Police even when it is not strictly an offence.
