LAST YEAR was considered a banner year for premier Singapore indie rock releases, but eyes are already on 2011 and what we can expect this year. Local rock outfit Caracal has already kicked things off with their album, Bear. Shark. Wolf., but here are a few more to watch for. The Great Spy Experiment The band hopes to release its follow up to its well-received debut Flower Show Riots (2007). Singer Saiful Idris said that would be a notable difference in both the musical direction and sound of the upcoming album (provisionally called Litmus) compared to the debut. "Honestly, we never really quite talked about what exactly that direction would be so whatever you'll be hearing in the second album is all a product of natural progression, and of our age and relative calm," Idris elaborated.
