Banks set to boost wealth, investment teams this year

It's the time of the year again when some firms pay out their bonuses. And this is also the time when employers are expecting staff to leave and eyeing potential replacements. A survey released yesterday by recruitment firm Hudson found that 57 per cent of employers surveyed will give out bonuses of more than 10 per cent of annual wages. Ten per cent of the respondents said their bonus payout will be 5 per cent of annual wages or less. The survey also found that 61 per cent of the employers surveyed plan to increase hiring, a steep rise from 47 per cent in the last quarter of last year. And the hiring sentiments were strongest in the manufacturing and industrial sectors. Hudson Singapore executive general manager Georgie Chong said: "It's a historical occurrence because basically employers generally expect to see an uptake in turnover after annual bonuses payout each year....
