Japanese prosecutors have decided not to indict a Chinese captain whose fishing boat collided with Japanese vessels

TOKYO - A JAPANESE coast guard official says prosecutors have decided not to indict a Chinese captain whose fishing boat collided with Japanese vessels near disputed islands. Spokesman Go Nagai said on Friday that prosecutors also would not indict a former coast guard officer who claimed responsibility for leaking a video of the collision on YouTube. The collision in September caused a diplomatic rift between China and Japan. Public anger triggered large anti-Japanese demonstrations across China last year. -- AP
