We hear this term being thrown about all the time. But what does eating clean really mean? It amuses me when people claim that they’re eating clean, and then post a picture of a salad with ham and thousand island sauce. The very basic idea of eating clean is to remove chemicals and processed foods from your diet. Processed foods include all kinds of processed meats (ham, bacon, sausages, nuggets) that are manufactured, and therefore contain additives. They also include foods with ingredients that are basically, chemicals. For example, look at the chilli sauce packaging below.
