Singaporeans have till Jan 27 to check electoral rolls
Citizens who have yet to check their names in the Registers of Electors have till Jan 27 to do so, the Elections Department reminded on Friday. They can do this at http://www.elections.gov.sg The Elections Department said that as of Jan 20, 22,129 have done so with 12 claims and seven objections received. It added that it has also received 879 applications for registration as overseas electors. Claims can be filed with the Registration Officer by anyone who considers himself qualified to be an elector as on Jan 1 but does not find his name in the correct Register of Electors or in any Register of Electors. Objections can be filed by an elector against the inclusion of his name or another person's name in a Register of Electors of the same constituency as his. So far, 92 people have applied for the restoration of non-voters' names.
