saw two concrete slabs which had fallen from a lorry and knocked over a traffic light in Clementi. It was reported in The New Paper today (Aug 31) that the two concrete slabs weighing 12 tonnes slid from a lorry and crushed a traffic light and a road sign between Clementi Avenue 2 and Commonwealth Avenue West at 10.25pm on Monday. A man, 28, was taken to hospital with injuries to his right leg. The Land Transport Authority is investigating. Said the STOMPer (Aug 29): "Traffic light collapsed near Clementi MRT. "The traffic light near Clementi MRT collapsed and was weighed down by two concrete slabs which looked like they weighed more than a ton. "The concrete slabs had fallen from a truck during a sharp turn at the traffic light junction."
