New SingHealth scholarship for medical students:

SINGAPORE: SingHealth has launched a new scholarship that will offer grants totalling up to S$576,000 per year, to four outstanding first-year medical students who want to serve in public healthcare. First-year medical students from Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School and NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine can apply. The scholarship will pay for education expenses and university fees. The quantum of the scholarship will be pegged against a Singapore Citizen's tuition fee at both universities, which is about S$144,000 for a 4-year course at Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School and S$100,000 for a 5-year course at NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. The scholars will be required to serve a four-year bond with SingHealth, which can be served concurrently with their bond commitment with the government.
