A quarterly survey conducted by recruitment firm Hudson indicated that more companies are gearing up for a hiring spree this year. The survey found that 62% of 450 executives interviewed here plan to increase headcount in the first three months of this year and this would be the highest level of hiring expectation recorded here in 11 years. The information technology and financial services sectors are driving the demand for new talent. Among the IT firms polled, 72% expected to increase their recruitment drive, especially in sales, marketing and business development while 67% of the financial services firms are expected to recruit new talent, especially in specialised fields such as risk management and legal issues. Amid the booming job market, more companies are also using measures such as monetary incentives and offering work-life balance benefits to retain valued employ...
