Participant from "Lose To Win" programme dies

SINGAPORE : A participant from a weight management structured programme has died. 54-year-old Ong Joo Aun was one of the participants in the reality TV show "Lose To Win" organised by the Health Promotion Board. Condolence messages poured in to the "Lose To Win" Facebook account when news broke out about Mr Ong's death. He collapsed after completing a two-kilometre brisk walk fitness assessment at Yishun Stadium on Friday morning. He was rushed to the nearby Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, where he died. Friends described him as a jolly person who never failed to encourage other participants. Responding to queries from Channel NewsAsia, the Health Promotion Board (HPB) said participants for the "Lose To Win" programme were selected via a rigorous screening procedure.
