That is why Dr Seet Ai Mee, vice-president of the Singapore Hospice Council (SHC), is heading a task force to do just that and also debunk the myth that hospices are merely death houses. On her wish list are roadshows, info-dramas on television, radio talk shows and stories in newspapers to reach the masses, especially those in the heartland. Hospices - there are eight in Singapore - provide compassionate care to the terminally ill and better manage their final days.
