Nan Hua High's CIP involves helping out in MP's Meet the People's sessions. Shouldn't schools be neutral?

My sister has to clock her school CIP hours. Her whole class has been asked by her teacher to go to one of the Meet the people session to clock her CIP hours today. The meet the people session is most probably West coast GRC Fong Jen Arthur's MPS as her school is near there. Shouldn't school be neutral, non-partisan and be be a proxy to any political parties? Even my dad was quite unhappy about the fact that the school is doing this, he don't mind if they go to old folks home to do CIP. But in this case it is clear that they are used to help someone further their political agenda.
