(TODAY) ASEAN to be more important to US companies

SINGAPORE - More US companies plan to invest in the ASEAN region as the outlook for the world's largest economy grows increasingly gloomy. And Singapore remains one of the top destinations for these companies. According to the latest ASEAN Regional Business Outlook Survey by the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham), Singapore ranks highly in terms of infrastructure, laws and regulations. Mr Simon Kahn, Chairman of AmCham Singapore, said: "Singapore has got a lot of different factors that play in its favour - great business climate, a very business active government, and a place that individuals want to live because of its low crime, great environment, and great school system." Still, Singapore may not be everyone's choice.
