It's about time all ATMs could be used by customers of any bank: Voices

There was a time when we did not have Automated Teller Machines (ATMs). When they came along, everyone was happy: Banks need not handle so many manual cash-withdrawal transactions; customers need not wait too long to withdraw their money. My friend's mother said initially that she was too old to learn about this "new" technology but was won over eventually because of the convenience. Then I remembered a Japanese man telling me years ago that he could not understand how Singapore was so efficient, yet did not have ATMs that all Singaporeans can share. We should look into this, since UOB and OCBC are able to share their ATMs now. I am sure the banks can discuss how to make it equitable, based on the number of bank customers using the ATMs and the amount of money withdrawn.
