Tough battle in women's elite race Last year's AIM 70.3 female champion Switzerland's Caroline Steffen, will have to contend with some tough opposition to retain her title. Reigning Ironman 70.3 World Champion Jodie Swallow is also planning to make her third appearance in Singapore this year. The 29-year-old British triathlete first took part in 2009 as a near unknown, and left Singapore the winner and record holder for the female category. Last year, Swallow came in second, with a timing of 4 hours 26 minutes and 32 seconds, eight minutes behind the 2010 female champion, Steffen, who set a new record timing for the women's field. However, aiming for a second win in Singapore this year may not be easy for defending champion Steffen, as Swallow is in top form, having won the Ironman 70.3 World Championship in Florida last year.
