MediaCorp unveils future of television with new interactive service

SINGAPORE - The Republic's leading media company, MediaCorp, is set to revolutionise the way consumers watch television and use Internet-enabled devices such as PCs, tablet devices and mobile phones. It is introducing a new interactive service that will offer content leveraging on MediaCorp's TV, radio, print and online offerings as well as third-party content. The service, which piggybacks on user's existing broadband connection, will be rolled out in the second half of this year. It will be made available for free, except for premium content which requires a subscription. Using an interactive TV screen, viewers will get to access real-time traffic information, some free games and movies. There will also be High Definition-quality TV programmes on free-to-air channels.
