SingTel's 3G network down due to software glitch

SINGAPORE : SingTel mobile customers have been experiencing intermittent difficulty in making calls and accessing the 3G network since Tuesday. The cause of the problem has been traced to a software glitch. Customers reported that the problems lasted several hours on Tuesday afternoon and from mid-afternoon on Wednesday. SingTel said the problems are limited and contained to central areas in Singapore. It recommends customers to switch to the 2G network to continue using voice, SMS and data services. SingTel began restoring its 3G services at 8pm on Wednesday.
