S.Korea proposes holding military talks with N.Korea next month

The defence ministry said it sent a message to the North suggesting a meeting on February 11 at the border truce village of Panmunjom. The meeting is aimed at setting the time, place and agenda for higher-level military talks. Both sides agreed last week to hold the high-level meeting in an attempt to ease months of tensions. The meeting at Panmunjom would be the first since the North shelled a South Korean border island on November 23, killing four people including civilians and sending tensions soaring. Seoul's...
