Customs clearance faster with TradeFIRST

SINGAPORE : Companies trading with Singapore will see their goods moving a lot faster through customs. Singapore Customs on Wednesday introduced a new trade framework called TradeFIRST, which quickens the customs clearance process. With TradeFIRST, goods will now take just one week to be cleared, instead of the usual two to three weeks. In the past, a company needed to submit many applications to obtain multiple trade licences. But with TradeFIRST, supply chain managers can now liaise through one account manager, who will handle all their licensing needs. Duncan Crow, supply chain manager, Asia Pacific Breweries, said: "I think it will help us to save time and stress. So these are the key areas - it allows us as a company to get on with serving our customers."
