'Quality and affordable eldercare services' for more seniors in Woodlands

SINGAPORE - An NTUC Eldercare centre in Marsiling has joined hands with the Foundation of Rotary Clubs to provide quality and affordable community-based eldercare services to more seniors in the Woodlands community. Through such a collaboration, "they don't have to re-invent the wheel", said Mr Lim Boon Heng, Minister-in-charge of Ageing Issues, yesterday. NTUC Eldercare, for example, has the experience in managing ageing matters. As for Rotary, which donated $120,000 to the centre, it can share the professional services that it has, such as geriatric services. Mr Lim said: "They don't have to learn the lessons that NTUC Eldercare has done over the last 12 years. They can see how it operates and contribute to it with their ideas and volunteers and the professional expertise." The daycare centre has been renamed NTUC Rotary Silver Circle (Marsiling).
