Cherishing the ones around us. Life for Singaporeans after 9/11:

Officers from the Public Transport Security Command (TransCom) watching over commuters at City Hall and Raffles Place MRT stations. TransCom was commissioned on Aug 15, 2009 to oversee policing efforts throughout the entire public bus and rail network. The unit now has more than 400 police officers. TransCom has been involved in security and contingency planning initiatives for the public transport system, as well as in the security arrangements for major events like National Day celebrations, F1 grands prix and the APEC meetings in 2009. TransCom officers have become a fixture of the local public transport scene, regularly spotted during their patrols. They are constantly on the alert for suspicious characters and items that may pose a threat. Last year, TransCom officers made more than 500 arrests in the course of their duties.
