Singapore's Manufacturing Output For 2010 Up 29.7%: December 2010 output rose 9% on-year, but declined 11.8% on-month.

Singapore’s manufacturing industry closed the year on a positive note, as output for December 2010 increased 9% on-year. This was the icing on the cake, as manufacturing output for the entire year grew 29.7%, according to the Monthly Manufacturing Performance December 2010 data from the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB) yesterday. Churning out the biggest output rise in December 2010 on-year was the precision engineering cluster. This was due to: production from new plants robust demand for refrigerating and semi-conductor related equipment higher production of metal precision components All other clusters also saw on-year growth in output for the month: chemicals (+ 9.1%) electronics (+ 9%) transport engineering (+ 8.1%) biomedical (+ 1.2%) general manufacturing (+ 0.7%) For the entire 2010, clusters with the 3 biggest output expansions were: biomedical (+ 49.8%)...
