300 cyclists needed for fundraiser

SINGAPORE: A call is out for more than 300 cyclists to take part in a race to support and raise funds for patients in need of palliative care. The 15-kilometre race is set to take place on October 16 starting at Jalan Tan Tock Seng and passing through Moulmein, Lavender, Kallang, Mountbatten, Fort Road and East Coast Parkway before ending at Casuarina Grove. The race is organised by the Singapore Hospice Council (SHC) in conjunction with World Hospice and Palliative Care Day. "The hospices and hospitals which provide palliative care do need support. As our population ages, there is greater need for palliative care for our people," said Dr R. Akhileswaran, Chairman of SHC. The SHC is an umbrella body incorporating all organisations actively providing hospice and palliative care in Singapore.
