Mount Bromo eruption disrupts flights to Bali, Lombok

SINGAPORE - Several flights to and from Bali were cancelled or delayed because of volcanic ash from Mount Bromo in East Java, which has been erupting all week. Two Singapore Airlines (SIA) flights were cancelled yesterday: SQ 946, which was scheduled to depart from Singapore at 4.30pm and SQ 947 which was to leave Denpasar for Singapore at 8.05pm local time. Two SIA flights were delayed: SQ 948 which was supposed to depart Singapore at 6.50pm yesterday will leave at 10.30am today and SQ 941 which was scheduled to depart Denpasar at 9.15am today, will depart at 2.10pm instead. SilkAir flight MI 128 from Singapore to Lombok and flight MI 127 from Lombok to Singapore were also cancelled yesterday.
