Cyclists set to rule ECP: SINGAPORE - Participants at the OCBC Cycle Singapore 2011 will get a new riding ex... #F1

SINGAPORE - Participants at the OCBC Cycle Singapore 2011 will get a new riding experience along the East Coast Parkway (ECP) expressway when the race is flagged off at the Formula 1 Pit Building. For the first time, the event will be held over three days, from March 4 to 6. A 6km section of the ECP - from Fort Road to Laguna flyover - will be closed exclusively for the first time for cyclists riding in the Super Challenge (60km) and Nissan Challenge (40km). Community Ride (20km) participants will also get to experience a 1km portion of the highway during the race. Chris Robb, managing director of event organisers Spectrum Worldwide, said: "The well-being of OCBC Cycle Singapore participants is always our top priority and this new route will certainly enhance cyclists' safety, as well as their overall riding experience."
