Baggage handlers at Changi Airport's budget terminal arrested for jewellery theft. #Singapore
SINGAPORE - Three baggage handlers who allegedly stole jewellery from passengers' luggages at Changi Airport's Budget Terminal were arrested today. It is believed that the suspects, aged between 41 and 55, committed the incidences of theft when handling bags belonging to departing passengers. Airport police also seized an assortment of jewellery, believed to be stolen items. Prior to today's arrest, airport police received several reports of missing items from passengers' baggage, triggering the investigations. The suspects will be charged in court on Sept 15 for the offences of Theft with Common Intention under Section 379 read with Section 34 of the Penal Code, and Dishonestly Disposing of Stolen Property under Section 114 of the Penal Code.
