"Stockbrokers with a Heart" raises S$230,000 for charity

SINGAPORE : Nine securities firms donated a total of S$230,000 to the Community Chest as part of its "Stockbrokers with a Heart" campaign. The Community Chest hopes to raise $1 million over two years through the campaign, supported by the Securities Association of Singapore (SAS). SAS Chairman Edmond Choo said the association will encourage more in the 10,000-strong stockbroker community to participate in the SHARE programme. The first sector-wide campaign was held last June for the hotel industry. "Hoteliers with a Heart" saw 1,000 new SHARE donors from seven hotels joining the programme. These campaigns are an effort by the Community Chest to encourage employees of targeted sectors to donate regularly through SHARE. The nine firms that raised the $230,000 are Amfraser Securities Pte Ltd, CIMB Securities (Singapore) Pte Ltd, DBS Vickers Securities (Singapore) Pte Ltd, DMG...
