The ISA remains 'relevant and crucial' for Singapore's security: Ministry of Home Affairs

Back when Singapore had parties of different ideologies and when the global political trend was to sweep out communism, the ISA proved very useful in combating controversial le(e)gal issues. But after decades of political stability brought about by Lee-loving social-engineering policies, and swift, galloping capitalism, citizens grew wealthier by the day and the longevity of social stability continues. With the money and stability they now had, the ISA then became a safeguard to problems that had no longer existed. Amidst all the peace-loving and money-making times in Singapore and most of the rest of the world, abruptly came 9/11. Following it immediately, Uncle Sam declared war against terrorism - this loud proclamation not only shook Americans but spilled contagiously over the rest world and kept political leaders worldwide busy fighting terrorism in their own backyards...
