New Thai airline hires 6 transsexuals

Fledgling Thai carrier PC Air announced on Thursday it has hired six transsexuals as flight attendants, and president Peter Chan believes other carriers will follow the lead of his "pioneer" airline, reported The Nation. The attendants will be given a "third sex name tag" while on duty. Among the new crew is 23-year-old Thanyarat "Film" Jiraphatpakorn (picture), the 2007 winner of the annual transvestite beauty pageant Miss Tiffany Universe. More than 100 transsexuals applied for the first round of jobs. "I'm a pioneer, and I'm sure there will be (other) organisations following my idea," Mr Chan was quoted as saying in the Sydney Morning Herald. PC Air is expected to be fully operational by April with charter flights across Asia.
