The Land Transport Authority (LTA) is launching a trial on the use of closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera systems to curb illegal parking along roads. -- ST PHOTO: WANG HUI FEN By Royston Sim The Land Transport Authority (LTA) is launching a trial on the use of closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera systems to curb illegal parking along roads. It called a tender last week seeking contractors to conduct a six-month trial, with a view towards using such systems to improve its detection of such offences. The trial will take place at two locations along public roads, but it remains unclear where these sites are. The sites will be 150m long and two lanes wide each.
