SOFIA (AFP) - Ikea, the world's biggest home-furnishing retailer, opened its first store in Bulgaria's capital Sofia on Tuesday, eyeing a 10 per cent market share in its first year of operation, officials said. The Swedish giant entered Bulgaria via its Greek franchiser, Fourlis Holdings, which plans to open in the coming years a second store in the Black Sea city of Varna. The Sofia store spanned 25,000 sq m and offered 7,500 products. It will aim to get a 10 per cent share in Bulgaria's furniture market of about 500 million leva (S$441.5 million) at the end of its first year in operation, store manager Teo Mouratidis said in a recent interview.
