Coca-Cola opens plant in Singapore

SINGAPORE: Coca-Cola opened a S$72 million concentrate plant in Singapore on Tuesday. The world's largest beverage company said the new plant is expected to create up to 120 new jobs. Coca-Cola said the plant will enable the company to have a shorter lead time to cater to its Asia-Pacific market. Located in Tuas, it has an annual capacity to produce the equivalent of 18 billion cans of soft drinks like Coke. Other drinks it will produce at the plant include Schweppes, Fanta, Sprite, and Minute Maid. The company currently has a bottling plant and a regional marketing office in Singapore, both of which are also located in Tuas.
