FOREIGNERS who come to here to beg are exploiting kind-hearted Singaporeans. That is why Nee Soon GRC Member of Parliament (MP) Lee Bee Wah said she will not hesitate to take action when she sees them, especially in her GRC. She told The New Paper that she was having breakfast with residents at a coffee shop at Block 848, Yishun Street 81 on Sunday when she saw a female beggar in her late 20s with a walking stick singing Chinese songs into a microphone, with a box for passers-by to put money in. After she alerted the police, she was notified that the beggar was actually a Chinese national on a social visit pass. More in The New Paper on Wednesday (Sept 21).
