Mum's the word at Wildlife Reserves Singapore

Mum's the word at Wildlife Reserves Singapore

IS THERE a media blackout at Wildlife Reserves Singapore (WRS), which runs the Night Safari, Singapore Zoo and the Jurong BirdPark? On Tuesday afternoon, its corporate communications team, in response to queries by The New Paper, said it "had been instructed to direct all WRS media matters" to a three-member team. But the new team did not respond to e-mail queries and could not be reached by phone since Tuesday afternoon. The silence came after TNP's queries on the release of fireflies and staff unhappiness over its recent Moon Night at the Night Safari. This followed the controversy that erupted after WRS cancelled popular spook fest Halloween Horrors last week. The New Paper spoke to crisis management experts to find out if this is a good strategy. More in The New Paper today (Sept 22).
