Moreira breaks record on 117 wins - and counting

While it took 12 months for the 28-year-old to achieve his feat in 2010, it has taken him only nine months to reach that mark this year, despite missing out on the first few race-meetings while he was away on his end-of-year holiday back home. Moreira has been in white-hot form for most of the season, but his killer instinct has really gone up a few notches in the last couple of months, especially in the month of August when he has been plundering almost every race available, racking up an amazing haul of 24 winners in seven meetings. With 24 meetings left in the current season, there is now every conceivable chance the record will be smashed to unprecedented levels – with race presenter Matthew Jones bandying the 150-mark during the post-race interview.
