Sailing: Task force set up for Rio Games
SINGAPORE: Singapore Sailing has set up an Olympic Pathway Task Force to prepare for the 2016 Rio Games. The task force will develop a holistic, comprehensive and sustainable pathway for the sport as it aims for global glory. Singapore Sailing recently saw a new management team led by former Asian Games gold medallist Dr Ben Tan. Dr Tan has now assembled a diverse group of individuals from the sport as well as the wider sports community to help with the Olympic campaign. They include former Olympic gold medallists and experienced sports administrators. The task force will release its initial report by July this year. Some of its objectives include reviewing existing high performance practices and examining how to attain medals. It will also draw lessons form the 2008 and 2012 Olympic campaigns.
