Local athletes relish having the SEA Games hosted in Singapore

SINGAPORE - He last made an impact at the 2010 Youth Olympic Games which was held here, and swimmer Rainer Ng wants to wow the home crowd again should Singapore make a successful bid for the 2015 SEA Games. On Monday, the sports authorities here confirmed that they are studying the possibility of hosting the 2015 Games, and the news was welcomed by members of the fraternity. Said Ng, 19, who won a silver at the Youth Olympics and is pencilled in for the men's 50m, 100m and 200m backstroke at November's SEA Games in Indonesia: "After such a long time, it's good that we can host it at the newly constructed Sports Hub. "For me, I really love swimming with the home crowd behind me, and seeing everyone cheering on Team Singapore really gives us a rush.
