Theophilus Richardson Lai Tian En, 21, who pleaded guilty, had failed to ensure that the lever of the Unimog, a 5.6 tonne military vehicle, was in a forward position before driving off at Jurong Camp on Jan 28. The vehicle jerked backwards as a result and pinned Lance Corporal Eugin Wee Yong Choon, 19, against a pillar, causing him to suffer multiple injuries and his death.
