Admiralty night market affected by flash floods

SINGAPORE: Flash floods were reported in several areas of Singapore following heavy rains on Monday afternoon. National water agency PUB had cautioned that flash floods may occur in low-lying areas in the event of heavy rain. One area affected was a pasar malam (night market) near Admiralty MRT Station. Shop owners told Channel NewsAsia that water started seeping into their stalls around 2.00pm, and subsided only some two hours later. Almost half the stalls said some items were damaged as a result. They have resorted to placing their goods on higher grounds, to prevent further damage.
