恐龙两年后落户狮城 (联合早报, 25 November 2011) 30 November 2011 by dbsnlls Leave a Comment Click on image to download pdf. 恐 龙 两年后落 户狮 城 在短时间募集4600万元,实现自然历史博物馆在2014年落成的愿景,筹款委员会主席陈伟兴教授昨天与其他10名在各自科学领域中表现杰出的本地科学家,获颁新加坡国家科学院学术奖。 沈越报道 本地第一所自然历史博物馆将在2014 年落成,到时博物馆展出的三副梁龙( Diplodocus )化石,让国人不必出国便能看到栩栩如生的恐龙化石展览。 在短时间内募集到4600 万元资金,实现自然历史博物馆的愿景,并使恐龙确定落户新加坡,自然历史博物馆筹款委员会主席兼新加坡国立大学理学院特别项目主管陈伟兴教授可说是功不可没。 他昨天与其他10 名在各自科学领域中表现杰出的本地科学家,于国大的大学会堂里获颁地位崇高的新加坡国家科学院学术奖。 陈伟兴昨日受访时说,去年初自然历史博物馆的兴建筹款活动曾遇到瓶颈,他便一口气写了700封两页长的恳请信,发生合亲朋好友及素未谋面的人士,结果竟收到400 多封回件,其中还有人捐赠一整个月的工资,热心支持自然历史博物馆兴建的程度,让他颇为感动。 陈伟兴虽然是一名海洋生物学家,不过他对其他科学领域的兴趣不亚于自己的研究。他曾出任新加坡科学馆馆长长达10 年,后成为国立教育学院院长,并在2009年底重回国大。 针对在本地兴建自然历史博物馆的意义,他说” 目前在莱佛士生物多样性研究博物馆展出的标本,出自1849 年成立的莱佛士博物馆,然而,很多拥有超过150年历史的珍贵动物标本直到最近还是鲜为人知。因此,自然历史博物馆可同时让科学家、儿童和公众见识到我国的历史遗产。” 除陈伟兴,在过去几十年来一直致力于保护我国和区域海洋生态环境的海洋生物学家邹乐明教授也是得奖人之一。他昨日受访时表示,获得国家科学院学术奖肯定是一个惊喜,不过从未想过要获奖。 他说我从小在乡下长大,那个时候海洋生物的种类...
