Researchers recognised for superbug "weapon"

SINGAPORE: A team of researchers and scientists from Singapore and the US that made a breakthrough in a microscopic particle that has the potential to be a new weapon against the superbug has been recognised for its "world-changing idea". It was named Top 10 World Changing Ideas by Scientific American (December 2011) in the Technology Special Report on "World Changing Ideas - 10 New Technologies That Will Make a Difference". The team comprises Dr Yang Chuan, Dr Gao Shujun, Dr Yang Yiyan, Dr James L. Hedrick and Dr Jeremy Tan. All of them are from the Institute of Bioengineering and Nanotechnology (IBN) of Singapore's Agency for Science, Technology and Research, except for Dr James L.
