This Japanese car seat prevents theft -- by scanning your butt

With this unique car seat from Japan, you need never fear car thieves again. Sensors within the cushion of the seat measure your weight, posture and butt shape, and lock down the car's engine if it decides the driver isn't you. The seat was developed by a group of researchers at Tokyo's Advanced Institute of Industrial Technology. It uses a system of 360 sensors to measures the pressure people apply on it. This information is then aggregated to show data like the highest point of pressure, area of contact on the seat among other factors, to boast a 98% chance of correctly identifying a driver.
