The Singapore economy achieved steady growth of 4.8 per cent last year, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong said in his New Year message. 'Amid this flux, we need to be confident of our position, and clear about our priorities and plans to build a better Singapore,' he said. The Government will tackle urgent problems in housing and public transport, he said, summing up its plans to keep homes affordable and to improve the bus and train networks.
