Accenture has agreed a deal to buy Singapore-based company NewsPage, which develops distributor management and mobility software for the consumer goods industry. In a statement on Friday, the consulting firm said the acquisition will augment its Accenture CAS platform with multi-platform mobility and distributor management capabilities. Specifically, it will allow Accenture CAS to run on Microsoft's Windows, Google's Android, and Apple's iOS operating systems for mobile devices as well as software-as-a-service and on-premise deployments. The Accenture CAS software helps consumer goods companies achieve greater trade efficiency and sales by enabling improved product availability on the shelf and increasing their ability to efficiently collaborate with retailers.
