SINGAPORE: Residents and businesses in the Sims Drive cluster of Zika cases on Monday (Aug 29) expressed little or no concern over any threats to their health, even as authorities carried out extensive thermal fogging in the neighbourhood the same morning. Last Saturday, health and environment authorities announced that a woman living at nearby Aljunied Crescent was Singapore's first reported case of locally transmitted Zika . The 47-year-old Malaysian was reportedly working as a beer promoter at the Y2000 Eating House at Block 45 Sims Drive. The Ministry of Health (MOH) then confirmed a day later that there were 41 cases of locally transmitted Zika virus infection , entirely comprising residents or workers in the Aljunied Crescent or Sims Drive area.
