Singapore Science Centre looks for digital planetarium sponsor

SINGAPORE: Asteroids, spacecraft, and the solar system - it is the universe brought alive before your eyes. Curators at the Hong Kong Space Museum call this the projection system of the future but for an intrigued audience, a digital planetarium simply means a trip to the stars. By manoeuvring some controls, the audience will be able to zoom in and out of the galaxy. Together with the omni-present effect of the dome screen, anyone can feel like they are part of an out of this world space expedition. The museum said visitor numbers have increased by 30 to 40 per cent with the installation, which was built in 2009. It now comes up with its own customised planetarium shows.
