All Results: Market watchers keep close eye on post-election Thailand

SINGAPORE - With the Thai elections over, the winning party is expected to introduce new policies to help raise wages. This could mean both good news and bad news for Singapore companies with operations there. These include F&N and engineering and real estate group TEE International. "On the one hand, it's a boost for the economy with people able to spend more but on the other hand, companies might see their cost base increase because they have to pay more for wages," said Mr Santitarn Sathirathai, an economist with Credit Suisse. Market watchers are also keeping an eye out for political changes that could have an impact on some businesses. For example, Tiger Airways' proposed joint venture with Thai Air to set up a low cost carrier is still waiting the green light from the Transport Ministry.
